Recall your first introduction/meeting with Tiffany Pratt.
I met Tiffany at her Love Jam at Misfit studio. She formed us into a circle and sat on the floor with her shoes off like the rest of us instead of speaking from a stage or platform, and that in itself spoke volumes to me. She was honest and encouraging and ‘in it’ with all of us creatives in the room. She was sharing and asking questions and listening equally.
Is what you do grounded more in the physical, logical, emotional, or spiritual sense?
In concentric circles, spiritual is the centre circle for me, then layered with an emotional one, then physical, and logical is the final layer. For me, this is how the process of making manifests, and where it is rooted. The purpose (spiritual), the story it tells (emotional), how it presents itself in the world (physical), and what it takes to make it so (logic).
How is working with Tiffany Pratt different than working with other professionals in the design field?
She is gracious and collaborative and embraces imperfection.
What’s the first thing you do when starting a project?
Sit on the floor!
What role do you fill/how best do you support Tiffany Pratt?
Extra set of maker hands and another visual right-brain.
How do you know when a job is finished?
For Tiffany – it’s usually when most of my materials are all used up!
What is your best tool?
The industrial glue gun. Or a paintbrush.
What is your biggest motivator?
The reactions of the people who will be touched in some way by the art I’m making.
What is unique to working with Tiffany Pratt?
Her lack of rigidity. She is so fluid, open-minded, goes on the journey with the art project, and works with a mess to make beauty from it. She is also just so full of joy and gratitude that it is infusing – both into the art and into the heart.
What is your Spirit Animal?
I’ve been told it’s a deer.
What’s your favorite colour?
A dirty yellow, burnt rust, or muddy pink.
How do you reconcile a difference of opinion with Tiffany Pratt?
Honestly it’s hard to think of an example of that…style-wise we like to say we are a bit of Ying and Yang: I am the wispy clouds in tandem with her big bright rainbows, but together make a really balanced pair! Usually we try both of our ideas and ’round robin’ on each other’s work so it’s gets a touch of both if it needs it!
Where do you find inspiration?
The sky at dusk, art museums, my grandma’s house, flea markets, poetry, the sound of the harmonica.
What inspires you most?
Colour and texture.
If you weren’t in this role, what would you be doing?
The rest of my time is spent as a buyer/set stylist on film sets or designing and making art installations for Local Colour (an art installation company).
What is your proudest cooperative moment with Tiffany Pratt?
Making all kinds of large-scale holiday art decor out of candy and chocolates, bringing her vision to life with her!
What do you best remember making with your hands as a child?
Painting on castoffs of nature that I would scavenge – wooden boards or stones or driftwood from around the cottage.
How has Tiffany Pratt influenced your work?
She excitedly embraces imperfections and she shows me the art of maximalism (and the importance of always finding the joy within the work, no matter the work).
Do you consider yourself an artist or artistic?
I think being an artist is a heart-state/mind-state/way-of-seeing, rather than an occupation description. So I call myself a maker/designer by trade, but I’ve got an artist’s heart and soul.
What challenges you most in the process of what you do?
The very first mark! It’s the hardest.
How do you celebrate accomplishments or milestones?
I get right in my pajamas with a bowl of popcorn and my husband and I watch a good 90s movie.

Recall your first introduction/meeting with Tiffany Pratt.
The first time I met Tiffany, was when she saw her logo for the first time. Journee (her tiny pup-pup) in tow she asked to know the who and how the Glitter Pie logo came to be. Surprisingly revealed to me, she hugged me and we sat on the couch to learn all about one another. She felt like a long lost friend. Now it’s been 8 years!
Is what you do grounded more in the physical, logical, emotional, or spiritual sense?
40/40/20. Gotta believe in a little magic.
What role do you fill/how best do you support Tiffany Pratt?
Graphic design wonder. Tiffany tells me her dreams and I leave her little Christmas morning nugget in her inbox. We support one another’s dreams and team effort build her brand to truly represent her.

It’s all about making people’s dreams come true.
What is unique to working with Tiffany Pratt?
Love. Laughs. Support. Laughs. And big dreams!

Recall your first introduction/meeting with Tiffany Pratt.
Tiffany called me upon referral from a mutual friend. She needed someone last minute for hair styling, and I happened to be able to make it work. She was a burst of love and fun from the moment we first spoke! It’s almost indescribable how instantly we clicked – what a joy!
Is what you do grounded more in the physical, logical, emotional, or spiritual sense?
Makeup, for me, is a highly spiritual medium. It is such a transformative experience to play with colour, texture, and shape on a person. I love seeing how it can uplift and enhance people’s energy, and bring out different facets of their personality.
What role do you fill/how best do you support Tiffany Pratt?
I am an energy curator. Sometimes that energy comes from magical makeup and hair creations, other times it comes from Angel Card readings, guided meditations, or energetic balancing of the body and home.
What is your biggest motivator?
I truly love what I do, and that’s what fuels me.
What is unique to working with Tiffany Pratt?
Tiffany affords me a great deal of creative freedom, while at the same time being an excellent collaborator. She is a makeup artist in her own right, so it’s interesting to have someone who understands what I’m doing from that perspective, and yet still lets me take the lead. It’s really wonderful!
What is your Spirit Animal?
Mermaid
What’s your favourite colour?
Glitter!
What inspires you most?
I’m endlessly fascinated by people and their personal expression. Music has also always been a great source of inspiration for me in terms of mood, tone, and colour.
What is your proudest cooperative moment with Tiffany Pratt?
Creating the Pompom Braid! I made the pompom pins hoping we might get to use them in a shot, and Tiffany happened to have been wanting to wear a pair of earrings in the exact colour palette. It was one of those fabulous moments where we found one another on the same wave length very effortlessly, and the images turned out dreamy!
What do you best remember making with your hands as a child?
I’ve always loved painting. I would spend hours on end standing at my easel. More often than not I’d ditch the brushes in favour of my hands. I still often find myself ditching brushes in favour of my hands!
How do you celebrate accomplishments or milestones?
Depends! I love celebrating with family and friends – maybe a great brunch or dinner together. I also like to treat myself to a sleep-in if I’ve been hard on the work grind!
What’s the first thing you do when starting a project?
I ask the client questions to determine what they are seeking to express, and then suggest hair and makeup details that I think will help to convey that vibe.
What is your best tool?
I think my best tool is my sense of humour. It helps me to navigate everything in life, and keeps me grounded. It also is useful in keeping a vibrant but relaxed energy with my clients.
Where do you find inspiration?
EVERYWHERE! What a fascinating world we live in!
If you weren’t in this role, what would you be doing?
I find myself saying “I’d love to do that” about so many careers! Though I truly can’t imagine being anything other than a Makeup Artist. With that being said, I didn’t picture myself doing this a few years back! I’m open to seeing how life unfolds, and what opportunities come my way!
How has Tiffany Pratt influenced your work?
Tiffany’s attention to and appreciation of the little details has helped me to explore a more playful side of my art. Since we began collaborating, I’ve been on a constant treasure hunt for pieces we can utilize together.
Do you consider yourself an artist or artistic?
I am an artist.
What challenges you most in the process of what you do?
I can get in my head about things! I have to sometimes take a step back, and then return to look at things with fresh eyes if I find myself overthinking things.
